Grooving of the Great Veins

Another, Albeit Indirect, Sign of Aortic Dissection

Israel Steinberg, MD; Harry L. Stein, MD

JAMA. 1968;205(13):933-935.

Abstract

A new sign, grooving of the great veins, was recently encountered following the intravenous angiocardiographic study of a 61-year-old woman with dissecting aneurysm of the thoracic aorta. The deformity of the great veins, although an indirect sign, seems worthy of report.
