Cerebral Scans in Completed Strokes

Value in Prognosis of Clinical Course

Abstract

The brain scans of 50 patients with complete nonhemorrhagic strokes were classified as normal or abnormal. Those patients with an abnormal brain scan had a significantly greater chance of a persisting neurological deficit and less chance of a worthwhile neurological recovery.
