Acute Myoglobinuria Associated With Type A2 (Hong Kong) Influenza

Norman M. Simon, MD; Richard N. Rovner, MD; Byron S. Berlin, MD

JAMA. 1970;212(10):1704-1705.

Abstract

A 27-year-old man developed acute myoglobinuria with renal failure following an infection of type A2 (Hong Kong) influenza virus, an association not previously reported. Other respiratory infections in the past also appeared to precipitate myoglobinuria of a less severe degree.
