Abstract
During a recent six-year period, 33 patients with parotid tumors, 15 of which were malignant, were treated at the Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis. Eight patients presented with a history of prior minor surgical procedures, and among these, four had tumors which were malignant. Once a logical index of suspicion is established, errors of this type in the initial management of these lesions can be avoided. A brief resume of eight cases is presented.
