A Practical Guide to Drug Usage in Adult Patients With Impaired Renal Function

William M. Bennett, MD; Irwin Singer, MD; Cecil H. Coggins, MD

JAMA. 1970;214(8):1468-1475.

Abstract

Four tables describe maintenance dosage intervals for common therapeutic agents used in patients with renal disease. Particular emphasis has been given to the use of biological half-life and creatinine clearance for modification of the usual dose schedules, and to the adjustments required by patients undergoing dialysis. Toxic effects that relate directly to drug usage in patients with renal failure are also described.
