Reversal of Myelofibrosis in Hodgkin Disease

Michael V. Viola, MD; Joseph Kovi, MD; Madan Nukhopadhyay, MD

JAMA. 1973;223(10):1145-1146.

Abstract

A 31-year-old woman had Hodgkin disease associated with extensive myelofibrosis. Peripheral-blood examination revealed pancytopenia with circulating, immature white blood cells and abnormal red blood cell forms. Following four courses of quadruple chemotherapy the patient had a normal peripheral-blood picture, and a single bone marrow needle biopsy specimen was normal.
