Abstract
A middle-aged woman developed an acute hemolytic anemia with warm antibodies. The cause remained unknown. Hemoglobin level fell rapidly to 3 gm/100 ml and symptoms of cerebral anoxia appeared. Compatible blood could not be found. Intermittent hyperbaric oxygen therapy had a striking effect on the cerebral symptoms and kept the patient alive during the critical period.
