Left atrial myxoma: diagnosis, treatment, and cytological observations

A patient first seen with cardiac cachexia was found to have a large left
atrial myxoma. The diagnosis was first suggested by echocardiographic
examination. Cure was achieved by surgery. Light and electron microscopic
studies indicate a multipotential mesenchymal cell origin of myxomata.
