Subtotal colectomy for refractory pseudomembranous enterocolitis

Pseudomembranous enterocolitis resulting from therapy with antibiotics such
as clindamycin and lincomycin hydrochloride monohydrate does not always
respond to drug and vigorous medical support. We describe two seriously ill
patients who recovered after subtotal colectomy with ileostomy.
