Endobronchial Hodgkin's disease
C. J. Donlan Jr and J. W. Reid
Endobronchial involvement with Hodgkin's disease has been reported
infrequently. A 26-year-old woman with previously diagnosed nodular
sclerosing Hodgkin's disease had substernal chest pain and a right middle
lobe infiltrate. Fiberoptic bronchoscopy showed nodular endobronchial
lesions located at the carina, the right mainstem bronchus, and the right
middle lobe orifice. A biopsy specimen of one of these lesions showed
Hodgkin's disease. The patient was then treated with sequential systemic
chemotherapy. Repeated bronchoscopy showed complete resolution of the
endobronchial lesions, and the patient has remained in complete remission
for 24 months.
