Acute aortic thrombosis in antithrombin III deficiency
M. E. Shapiro, R. Rodvien, K. A. Bauer and E. W. Salzman
Two cases of acute aortic thrombosis, a previously unreported complication
of antithrombin III deficiency, are reported. Both patients had abnormally
low antithrombin III levels, which improved to normal levels with warfarin
;sodium therapy. The possibility of antithrombin III deficiency should be
considered in young patients with acute arterial thrombosis.
