Abstract
Polycystic disease of the liver may clinically mimic diseases of the gallbladder. The presence of extrinsic masses deforming the gallbladder on oral cholecystography or intravenous cholangiography, especially in patients with a previous history of polycystic kidney disease, should suggest the correct diagnosis. Gray-scale ultrasonography can confirm the diagnosis, precluding the need for invasive studies or surgery.
