First Call for the AMA-RPS Annual Meeting

The 22nd Annual Meeting of the American Medical Association-Resident Physicians Section (AMA-RPS) Assembly will be held June 12 and 13 at the Swissotel, Chicago, Ill. The AMA-RPS has nearly 35000 members and is the largest organization of residents in the country. Residents and fellows from across the United States will meet to create policy on the collective negotiations by residents, graduate medical education funding, public health, and other topics.

Delegates to the AMA-RPS Assembly must be AMA members currently in an accredited residency program or residency fellowship. Resident delegates represent their state and medical specialty societies or the uniformed services; 201 residents representing 31 states and territories, 22 specialty societies, and 2 uniformed services attended the 1997 Annual Meeting.
