The 22nd Interim Meeting of the American Medical Association-Resident Physicians Section (AMA-RPS) Assembly will be held December 3-5, 1998, at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, Honolulu, Hawaii. Because Hawaii is a popular vacation destination, we strongly encourage attendees to make travel arrangements as soon as possible.
The AMA-RPS has nearly 35000 members and is the largest organization of residents in the country. At the meeting, residents and fellows from across the United States will create policy on collective negotiations by residents, graduate medical education funding, public health, and other topics. Delegates to the AMA-RPS Assembly must be AMA members currently in an accredited residency program or residency fellowship. Resident delegates represent their state and specialty societies or the uniformed services. A total of 201 delegates representing 31 states and territories, 22 specialty societies, and 2 uniformed services attended the 1997 Interim Meeting.
