• Richard K. Scher, MD, Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, New York City, becomes president-elect of the American Academy of Dermatology this month.
  
• Three researchers received Kappa Delta Awards at the meeting of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. They are Thomas A. Einhorn, MD, Boston University School of Medicine, Boston, Mass; Scott D. Boden, MD, Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, Ga; and Julia A. Briege, MD, University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha.L. Andrew Koman, MD, received the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation Clinical Research Award.
