  • Richard D. Amelar, MD, now a professor of clinical urology at New York University Medical Center where he has been since 1956, has received the 1999 Distinguished Andrologist Award from the American Society of Andrology. His work includes pioneering studies of male infertility.
  • Ferdinand J. Venditti, Jr, MD, has been appointed chair of the Department of Medicine and Richard T. Beebe Professor of Medicine at Albany Medical College in Albany, NY.
  • Martin D. Abeloff, MD, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine; James O. Armitage, MD, University of Nebraska Medical Center; Allen S. Lichter, MD, University of Michigan School of Medicine; and William C. Wood, MD, Emory University School of Medicine, will become coeditors of the journal Oncology. They succeed Robert E. Wittes, MD, who is at the National Cancer Institute.
