Infertility Study Seeks Patients

A research network founded by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) is seeking infertile couples for a study aimed at determining whether endometrial biopsy actually leads to better treatment. The procedure is commonly used as part of an infertility work-up, despite a lack of evidence regarding its utility.
The study is designed to address two questions: (1) Is there a difference in hte incidence of an out-of-phase endometrial biopsy in infertile women as compared with fertile controls? and (2) What is the most appropriate time during the luteal phase for the endometrial biopsy to be performed?
Women may be eligible for the study if they are 25 to 39 years of age and have regular menstrual cycles 24 to 34 days in length.
