Leadership Opportunities for Residents and Fellows

The American Medical Association-Resident and Fellow Section (AMA-RFS) is recruiting resident and fellow physicians to fill several leadership positions on AMA Councils and other committees. The resident representatives report to the AMA-RFS Governing Council on items of interest to resident physicians and fellows. The following is a summary of the councils and committees with upcoming vacancies for residents.

The AMA Council on Legislation addresses federal legislation related to health care and makes recommendations to the AMA House of Delegates on legislative policy. This council meets 4 times each year and at the AMA Annual and Interim Meetings. The AMA Board of Trustees appoints the resident member to this council for a 1-year term.

The AMA Surgical Caucus discusses issues and resolutions that come before the AMA House of Delegates and are of interest to surgeons. The resident member also serves on the Surgical Caucus Executive Committee, which meets at the . . . [Full Text of this Article]
