  • Allan Gibofsky, MD, JD, professor of medicine and public health at Weill Medical College of Cornell University and professor of law at Fordham University, has been appointed president and CEO of Long Island College Hospital.
  • Ronald R. Blanck, DO, a US Army lieutenant general, will become president of the University of North Texas Health Sciences Center in August. Blanck, who is US Army surgeon general, retires from the military on July 31 and will succeed David M. Richards, DO, at the medical school.
  • Robert W. Schafermeyer, MD, Carolinas Medical Center, Chapel Hill, NC, has become president-elect of the American College of Emergency Physicians. Michael L. Carius, MD, Norwalk Hospital, Stratford, Conn, is vice president and George W. Molzen, MD, Albuquerque, NM, is secretary-treasurer.
