Leadership Opportunities for Residents and Fellows

The American Medical Association Resident and Fellow Section (AMA-RFS) is recruiting resident and fellow physicians to fill several leadership positions. The resident representatives report to the AMA-RFS Governing Council on items of interest to resident and fellow physicians. The following is a summary of agencies with upcoming vacancies for residents.

The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) is the nationally recognized accrediting agency for more than 7000 residency training programs in the United States. It meets 3 times per year to establish general performance parameters for residency programs and to approve specific academic recommendations made by its residency review committees. The AMA-RPS Governing Council appoints the resident member to the ACGME to a 2-year term.
