- Bernard Moss, MD, PhD, chief of the Laboratory of Viral Diseases at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Bethesda, Md, has received the Bristol-Myers Squibb Award for Distinguished Achievement in Infectious Disease Research.
- Robert Haley, MD, chief of epidemiology and professor of internal medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, has been named a distinguished alumnus of Southern Methodist University. Also at UTSouthwestern, Robert Rege, MD, chair of gastrointestinal/endocrine surgery, has been appointed to the Hall and Mary Lucile Shannon Distinguished Chair in Surgery.
