  • Barnet Kramer, MD, MPH, has been appointed director of the Office of Medical Applications of Research at the National Institutes of Health. Kramer is also editor-in-chief of the Journal of the National Cancer Institute and a clinical professor at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, all in Bethesda, Md.
  • Paul L. Tessier, MD, who now lives in Boulogne, France, has received the Jacobson Innovation Award of the American College of Surgeons for developing craniofacial surgery as a new surgical specialty during the 1960s and 1970s.
  • Betty B. Wray, MD, has been named interim dean of the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine in Augusta and interim senior vice president for clinical activities at MCG. She has been a faculty member for more than 30 years and was most recently chief of the Section of Allergy-Immunology and vice chair of the Department of Pediatrics.
