  • Robert Myall, BDS, MD, has been appointed chair of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Oregon Health Sciences University School of Dentistry, in Portland. Educated in England, he has served as professor in the School of Dentistry and the Graduate School since 1985, and as adjunct professor of biological structure in the School of Medicine since 1986, as well as holding several other positions.
  • Richard H. Gelberman, MD, has been elected president of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is Fred C. Reynolds Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Washington University Medical School and chair, orthopaedic surgery, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, all in St Louis, Mo.
