  • Robert O. Valdez, PhD, has been named dean of the Medical College of Pennsylvania Hahnemann University School of Public Health in Philadelphia. He was previously professor of health policy and management at the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Public Health.
  • Alan R. Saltiel, PhD, a cell biologist and diabetes researcher, has joined the University of Michigan's new Life Sciences Institute in Ann Arbor. He will hold the positions of professor of internal medicine and professor of physiology.
  • V. Craig Jordan, PhD, DSc, has received the Bristol-Myers Squibb Award for Distinguished Achievement in Cancer Research. Jordan is the Diana, Princess of Wales Professor of Cancer Research and director of the Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Research Program at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center, and professor of molecular pharmacology and biological chemistry at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago.
