  • H. Robert Horvitz, PhD, the David H. Koch Professor of Biology, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the McGovern Institute for Brain Research, a neurologist and geneticist at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, and a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator, has received the Bristol-Myers Squibb Award for Distinguished Achievement in Neuroscience Research.
  • Robert K. Yu, PhD, MD, director of the Institute of Molecular Medicine and Genetics at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, has been elected president of the American Society for Neurochemistry.
  • Robert G. Roeder, PhD, professor and head of the laboratory of Biochemical and Molecular Biology at Rockefeller University in New York City, has received the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine's Dickson Prize in Medicine. Roeder was a pioneer in the discovery and characterization of the fundamental molecular mechanisms of gene transcription.
