- Eugene de Juan, Jr, MD, and Mark Humayun, MD, PhD, have left the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, Md, to join the faculty of the Doheny Eye Institute and the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California, Los Angeles.
- David Roodman, MD, PhD, has been appointed professor of medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology, at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and director, Center for Bone Biology, UPMC Health System.
- Anthony S. Fauci, MD, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Bethesda, Md, has received the 2001 Frank Annunzio Award in the Humanitarian Field from the Christopher Columbus Fellowship Foundation, an independent federal government agency.
- John P. Shock, MD, has been named executive vice chancellor of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Little Rock. Shock is president-elect of the Association of Professors of Ophthalmology.
