  • Marcia Kraft Goin, MD, clinical professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, has been elected president of the American Psychiatric Association. Goin will serve a 1-year term as president-elect of the organization starting in May 2002 followed by a 1-year term as president beginning in May 2003.
  • John T. Kelly, MD, PhD, has been named senior vice president, Scientific and Regulatory Affairs, at the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America. He was most recently director of Physician Relations at Aetna Inc; his experience includes 6 years at the American Medical Association where he was director of Quality and Utilization Management.
