Fauci, MD, director of the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases and a long-time researcher, has been awarded the Albany Medical Center Prize in Medicine and Biomedical Research. Fauci was cited "for his seminal research in AIDS and other diseases of the immune system, for his overall contributions to the advancement of science, and for his distinguished public service."
  • Marcelle M. Willock, MD, MBA, assistant provost at Boston University Medical Center and formerly professor and chair in the Department of Anesthesiology, has been appointed dean of the College of Medicine at Charles R. Drew University in Los Angeles, Calif.
  • Jin-Xiong She, PhD, has been named director of the Center for Biotechnology and Genomic Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He has also been named Eminent Scholar in Genomic Medicine and professor in the Department of Pathology.
