- Michael Berkowitz, MD, has been named executive medical director for Outpatient Services for Hospitals and Clinics at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.
- Jamie Maguire, MD, MPH, of the Parasitic Diseases Epidemiology Branch, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta, Ga, has received the Ben Kean Medal (for distinguished work in training others in tropical medicine) from the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. Joseph Cook, MD, of the International Trachoma Initiative, New York, NY, has received the Society's Donald Mackay Medal (for outstanding work in tropical health as it relates to improvements in the health of rural or urban workers in the tropics).
