The FDA's Cardiovascular and Renal Drugs Advisory Committee will hold a public meeting on July 18 at the Holiday Inn in Bethesda, Md, to consider the following applications:

(1) a proposed claim of comparative effectiveness of candesartan cilexetil and losartan in hypertension and (2) approval of pravastatin sodium/aspirin copackaged product for long-term management of cardiovascular disease.
