  • Five physicians have joined the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine Department of Surgery, Cincinnati, Ohio. They are Jennifer L. Butterfield, MD, Division of Plastic, Reconstructive and Hand Surgery; Joseph Cuschieri, MD, Division of Trauma/Critical Care; Amy A. McDonald, MD, Division of Trauma/Critical Care; Amy B. Reed, MD, Division of Vascular Surgery; and Michael F. Reed, MD, Section of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery.
  • John R. Combes, MD, senior medical advisor at the Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania and the American Hospital Association, has been elected chair of the National Coordinating Council for Medication Error Reporting and Prevention. The council has its headquarters in Rockville, Md.
