Management of Pressure Ulcers

Since this article does not have an abstract, we have provided the first 99 words of the full text and any section headings.

To the Editor: Dr Lyder1 cited an article by Knox et al2 to assert that to prevent pressure ulcers, "A 2-hour repositioning schedule should be the minimum interval for patients at risk." This statement could be interpreted to mean that repositioning patients more frequently than every 2 hours is an unnecessary burden on an already stressed hospital staff. I suggest that these data more appropriately support a maximum interval of 2 hours between position changes, that is, patients ideally should be repositioned more frequently than this interval, but at least every 2 hours.
