To the Editor: Dr Merenstein1 no doubt has sacrificed a great deal to become a physician. Others (eg, friends, family, colleagues) have sacrificed also, as has the public through its support of our medical schools. It would be regrettable for Merenstein to betray that trust based on one difficult life experience. Perhaps he could dedicate a small portion of his future career to the education of his colleagues, the legal profession, and the public as to the value of EBM to the practice of medicine.
