This is the excellent second edition of a text from the same editors, first published in 1998. The first edition uniquely combined atlas and text as a ready reference for physicians caring for patients with neurologic and neurosurgical disorders as well as for pathologists.

The first edition was a success with its generous photomicrographs, line drawings, well-placed tables, and well-balanced concise and pertinent text. The editors follow the same format in the second edition. Illustrations include gross photographs, color photomicrographs, and electron micrographs; their quality is excellent, consistent, and pleasing to the eye, page after page.

The book has 10 sections and 47 chapters covering most of the disease categories encountered in the daily practices of clinicians and pathologists in the field.
