To the Editor: I am concerned regarding the apparent failure to provide appropriate financial disclosures by 7 of the coauthors of the study on relapse of major depression during pregnancy related to antidepressant use by Dr Cohen and colleagues.¹ This article deals in part with what happens when women discontinue their antidepressants during pregnancy. It is therefore essential that readers be aware that the majority of the authors have been paid by companies that manufacture antidepressants, and that the lead author appears to have received support from at least 8 such companies.

In 2004, Dr Cohen declared that he received support from AstraZeneca, Berlex, Eli Lilly, Forest, GlaxoSmithKline, Janssen, Pfizer, and Wyeth.
