The National Library of Medicine has released an extensive selection of papers of molecular biologist and science administrator, Harold Varmus, MD, on its Profiles in Science Web site at http://www.profiles.nlm.nih.gov. Varmus, a former cancer researcher, National Institutes of Health director, and Nobel laureate, helped develop the theory that cancer arises from mutations in individuals' own genes.
