Over the years, pathologists have strived to take their art from the laboratory to the patient's bedside. Questions in Daily Urologic Practice attempts one more step in that direction by answering 39 questions confronted in daily practice by urologists and pathologists. The answers and the accompanying commentary cover clinical and morphological aspects of selected tumors involving the kidney, adrenal gland, upper urinary tract, bladder, prostate, and testis. Urethral and penile tumors are not included.
The book is authored by 2 pathologists and 1 urologist and contains 5 parts spanning 287 pages. The sections on prostate and bladder tumors (parts 1 and 3) address questions commonly asked of urological pathology consultation services. The clinical relevance of changes in tumor classification and grading is appropriately underscored. Prostate tumor microanatomy and extraprostatic extension are discussed in a comprehensive fashion.
