Since this article does not have an abstract, we have provided the first 150 words of the full text and any section headings.

Computer scientist John McCarthy is credited with the humorous parody of a common proverb, "1,001 words is worth more than a picture." Although his ironic bent is probably appropriate to infinite works, it certainly does not apply to Goodheart's Photoguide to Common Skin Disorders: Diagnosis and Management. While dermatologists and wound healers need to have strong foundations in the basic science of the skin and dermatologic therapies, other health professionals are better served by a simple, organized text of common skin disorders—one that provides some basic pathophysiology and description of lesions as well as distribution, clinical manifestations, and how to diagnose the entity. Most importantly, it must be replete with illustrative photographs. The third edition of this popular text does not disappoint; it provides hundreds of high-quality representative photographs and enough written critical information to enable nondermatologists to improve their skills in the diagnosis and management of skin disease.
