Preliminary Assessment of Inhaled Nitric Oxide for Acute Vaso-occlusive Crisis in Pediatric Patients With Sickle Cell Disease—Correction

JAMA. 2004;292:925.

Acknowledgment Omitted: In the Preliminary Communication entitled "Preliminary Assessment of Inhaled Nitric Oxide for Acute Vaso-occlusive Crisis in Pediatric Patients With Sickle Cell Disease" published in the March 5, 2003, issue of JAMA (2003;289:1136-1142), an acknowledgment was omitted. The authors acknowledge that their protocol was initially developed in collaboration with C. Alvin Head, MD, the principal investigator for the multicenter Sickle Cell Inhaled Nitric Oxide Study (SCINOS) evaluating nitric oxide for the treatment of sickle cell vaso-occlusive crisis in adult and pediatric patients. Dr Head was not involved in the procurement of US Food and Drug Administration funding, study implementation or conduct, patient enrollment, data collection, data analysis, or manuscript preparation or review.
