Incorrect Wording in: Unfinished Business in Tobacco Control

JAMA. 2009;302(11):1170.

Incorrect Wording: In the Commentary entitled "Unfinished Business in Tobacco Control," published in the August 12, 2009, issue of JAMA (2009;302[6]:681-682), an error occurred on page 681, first column, third paragraph. The word "not" was misplaced in the following sentence that reads "At least the amount of tax revenues recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention3 should not be used for tobacco control, and states should reallocate to other initiatives funds received under the Master Settlement Agreement and originally dedicated to tobacco control." The sentence should have read "At least the amount of tax revenues recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention3 should be used for tobacco control, and states should not reallocate to other initiatives funds received under the Master Settlement Agreement and originally dedicated to tobacco control." Online versions of this article on the JAMA Web site were corrected on August 19, 2009.
