Incorrect Table Entries

JAMA. 1998;279:1876.

In the Concepts in Emergency and Critical Care entitled "Method of Medicare Reimbursement and the Rate of Potentially Ineffective Care of Critically Ill Patients" published in the September 24, 1997, issue of THE JOURNAL (1997;278:1001-1007), there were incorrect entries in a table. On page 1003, in Table 2, the entry "0" below "No. of full-time residency positions" should have been "No residents"; the entry "0.2" below "HMO Member, %" should have been "67.5"; and the entry "4.8" below "Non-HMO Member, %" should have been "74.1." The rest of the entries are correct, but for that bracketed group the P value of "<.61" should have been "<.001."
