Numerical Error in Associated Review Article in: Circumcision and HIV Prevention Among Men Who Have Sex With Men: No Final Word

JAMA. 2009;301(11):1129.

Numerical Error in Associated Review Article: In the Editorial entitled "Circumcision and HIV Prevention Among Men Who Have Sex With Men: No Final Word" published in the October 8, 2008, issue of JAMA (2008;300[14]: 1698-1700), a numerical error was published. On page 1698, in sentence 5 of paragraph 4, the odds ratio should have read "0.95 (95% confidence interval, 0.81-1.11)." This incorrect odds ratio occurred because of an error in the spreadsheet computations of the random-effects variance estimate in the associated Review article entitled "Circumcision Status and Risk of HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infections Among Men Who Have Sex With Men: A Meta-analysis."
