Failure to Report Financial Disclosure Information

To the Editor: I would like to apologize to the readers and editors of JAMA for a misunderstanding of the JAMA policy for reporting financial disclosures and a resultant failure to report disclosure information in the study of the relationship between adherence to a Mediterranean diet and risk of cognitive decline for which I was a coauthor.1
In the interest of full transparency and to avoid any potential misunderstanding, I report that I have received fees for conferences from food manufacturers Danone and Lesieur and that I indirectly benefit from a research grant from Lesieur (which contributed to funding for measurement of fatty acid levels in erythrocyte membranes performed by the ITERG [French Institute for Fats and Oils], Pessac, France).
