To the Editor.—
It seems to me a very simple answer to the query in QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS (210:2402, 1969), on supplemental use of meperidine hydrochloride in general anesthesia, would be to run a postoperative urine test (chromatography) for meperidine. This should indicate if and how much meperidine had been used with the thiopental.
