In one of the episodes of the popular television series, "It Takes a Thief," Al Mundy, father-taught master thief and government agent, foils a trio of dastards who plan to blow a hole in the roof of an underground atomic test site in Nevada. Their purpose, of course, is to release the radioactive blast emissions into the atmosphere, thereby dishonoring the United States. They couldn't care less about the effects on the local Nevadan citizenry.
We won't tell you how Al does his foiling. You may have missed the show on Feb 2, 1970, and you may see it someday as a rerun. We wouldn't want to relieve the suspense and spoil your fun. Now, to the point. The show begins with Al Mundy and Mona, a beautiful young woman, driving at night toward Las Vegas—purpose, a gambling vacation.
