To the Editor.—
Relative to "Environment - Carbon Monoxide and Cigarette Smoking" (212:1785, 1970), by Dr. Dinman, in paragraph 2, what, pray tell, is "1 teaspoonful" per day? A rapid "in the head" conversion to more conventional volumetric measure would indicate that Dr. Dinman is trying to say "about 5 cc," at standard temperature and pressure, I presume.
I have heard of quantities being expressed in peculiar units but a teaspoonful of carbon monoxide per day has to be one of the more unique. It certainly makes one prick up his ears and pay attention.
