To the Editor.—

Five percent of all cholecystograms show evidence of adenomyomatosis. The finding of adenomyoma with heterotopic gastric mucosa is rare with only one other case found reported. This case is documented because of its interest to surgeons, gastroenterologists, internists, roentgenologists, and pathologists.

Report of a Case.—

The patient was a slender 38-year-old woman, who was seen Nov 27, 1967. because of upper abdominal discomfort of five days' duration, which she described as a "knot" in the stomach accompanied by nausea but no emesis. A similar episode had occurred twice previously lasting from one to five days. During the prior two years, similar discomfort when under stress was relieved by food and milk but not antacids. There had been no melena or hematemsis. Physical findings were essentially normal except for high epigastric tenderness with no mass.
