Why would a bac si My (American doctor) leave his home and practice to travel half way around the world to help strangers? Because he is needed—critically needed—in South Viet Nam. There are three faces to the war in Viet Nam: armed conflict, a quest for a political solution, and the face of human need. This third face is the most important if we are to see lasting peace in Southeast Asia. More than 660 bac si's have served over 760 tours, and approximately 80 have returned for additional tours. See page 745 for the full story.
