To the Editor.—

In reference to the Question and Answer relating to digitalis effect on the ECG exercise test (217:485, 1971), using a generally accepted criterion of a positive ECG response to exercise, ie, flat or downsloping ST-segment in one or more post-exercise lead, equal to or greater than 1.0 mm in magnitude, normal persons given digitalis often may show "pseudo-positive" exercise ECGs even though the control tracing reveals little or no digitalis effects on the ST-segments.
