To the Editor.—
Obesity is a major medical concern in the United States today. Despite all the clamor in and out of medical circles, there has been no definite step taken to solve this problem.
It is obvious that there must be a strong incentive in order to lose weight. I hereby propose the establishment of an obesity tax (on a sliding scale, probably). After all, obese people take up more space!
The money thus collected may be channeled into obesity research.
